REFLECTION
"Self-reflection is a humbling process. It's essential to find out why you think, say, and do certain things... then better yourself." - Author Unknown
i want to be a better teacher. Although Self-reflection is an extremely humbling process (as stated in the quote above), it is critical for self-improvement. one way that I have been reflecting on my teaching this year is by reading harry wong's book "The first days of school." it has reminded me of my teaching philosophy, what my "ideal classroom" would look like, and how i can achieve a better learning environment for my students. |
SCOPE AND SEQUENCE
A big project for me this year was creating the Scope and Sequence for the secondary math program (alongside co-worker, Jamie Nicholson). The Scope and Sequence has proved to be an AWESOME tool for reflection and accountability as it gives me a way to measure how well I am doing in teaching the required content for any given subject in mathematics. Below is the Geometry Scope and Sequence.
